“We’ve noticed a trend emerging, with more and more couples choosing to wed in the golden months of autumn, likely because they are looking for all of the styling additions that the leafy season can offer. Couples are more and more comfortable and eager to take risks with their wedding design, which delights us. We love to push the boundaries and create unseen design concepts allowing our client’s nuptials to be memorable and stand out.”
“This editorial is the work of a creative team whose businesses, like many across the globe, have all been so severely affected by the pandemic. What Peggy Did Next handpicked the team to showcase some of the industries most talented UK based wedding and event professionals. We craved the opportunity to create and to work together once more, in the absence and postponement of planned client weddings. We wanted to show that intimate, micro weddings can still be beautiful, romantic and impactful with this design set for 24 guests. Small weddings can still feature the ‘wow’ moments when guests enter and are every bit as special and amazing as a large celebration.”
“The editorial took place at The Glasshouse, a recently launched intimate venue. We have been searching for a venue that doesn’t overwhelm in size but overwhelms in beauty and we have found just that. Owner Louisa has created and lovingly restored The Glasshouse into the most beautiful and enchanting venue, just outside of the village of Chiddingfold in Surrey and What Peggy Did Next are delighted to have been appointed as the Wedding Venue Managers. The Glasshouse takes an impressive stance. It stands on the site of the original Messenger Greenhouse, built in 1904 and last used in 1958. Glasshouse leaders, Alitex, renowned for previous projects at Lime Wood, THE PIG hotels and Arundel Castle, designed the replacement such that it would represent the unique design of the original and yet be a practical and long-lasting structure for use as part of a family home and private events alike.”
“We drew a huge amount of inspiration from the peaceful grounds that surround The Glasshouse, nestled within acres of private land and enchanting woodland. Pretty pastel skies and the rich, vibrant and warm tones of autumn played backdrop for this editorial campaign. We waited until the end of October for the leaves to be turning with shades of golden yellow and red.”
“For the tablescape we carried across the Ghost Chairs by The W Collection and chose small table bowls of blooms, structured allowing the roses to stand to attention, encouraging some modern shapes to be introduced into the design and so reflecting the modern shapes and angles of The Glasshouse build. The chairs appeared as glass, suiting the venue setting where glass is plentiful. We used table styling elements such as mixed nuts, acorns, brushed gold candlestick holders and soft, embroidered ribbons with raw edges to tie in with the more overgrown, rugged installation seen at the ceremony. Smaller weddings have the opportunity to be so much more personal with bespoke touches allowing guests to feel utterly spoilt.”
