How to care for your embroidered napkins? One of How to care for your embroidered napkins? One of the questions I’m asked most is how to wash embroidered napkins. The good news is they’re designed to be used and enjoyed, not hidden away. I wash mine on a gentle cycle using our normal laundry detergent. Once they’re clean, I pop them into the tumble dryer on a low heat for around 20 minutes, just until they’re slightly damp. For a relaxed, soft finish, simply reshape the napkins and lay them flat to dry naturally. If you prefer a more formal look, reshape them while they’re still damp, lightly spray with starch and iron before they’re fully dry. Always iron on the reverse of the embroidery, gently pulling the fabric taut as you press to help prevent any puckering around the stitches. One final tip: avoid using bleach, as it can cause the embroidered thread colours to fade.
