I thought it was time for a little Hello and welco I thought it was time for a little Hello and welcome to all our new followers 👋 I’m Heidi, founder of @theembroiderednapkincompany @extraspecialtouch & @nottinghamlacegarterco What started with a sewing machine, a love of embroidery & lace, and a set of monogrammed napkins for my own wedding has grown into a Nottingham studio creating embroidered napkins, bows, ribbons, handkerchiefs and garters, and for weddings and events all over the world. Everything you see here is designed and embroidered by our small team. No mass production, no minimum orders, just thoughtful details made especially for each bride, couple, planner or brand. This has genuinely been my brain for the last six This has genuinely been my brain for the last six months. 🤦‍♀️😂 For months, I’ve been seeing beautiful embroidered lace invitations all over social media. The problem? Most of them weren’t real. And once I’d seen them, I couldn’t stop thinking about how we could create a real embroidered invitation that felt every bit as beautiful. There have been countless samples, different digitising techniques, fabric tests, and more than a few late-night ideas scribbled down before sleep. It was even partly the reason I invested in a larger embroidery machine earlier this year. 🫣 Creating something this delicate and detailed has taken hundreds of hours of design, development and testing. Even now, each invitation takes several hours to embroider individually in our Nottingham studio. But after months of obsession, problem-solving and plenty of trial and error… They’re finally here. Real embroidered wedding invitations, crafted from pure silk organza with embroidered lace. And I couldn’t be happier with how they’ve turned out. Moss, climbing greenery, ivory roses, candlelight and woven grapes spilt across a tablescape designed to feel alive. The Georgian country house provided the perfect backdrop, with original chandeliers, centuries-old architecture and the soft light of early spring filtering through every room. Three bridal looks carried the story from ceremony to dinner to after-party, ending in the orangery with a champagne tower. For this wedding, the seating plan was embroidered For this wedding, the seating plan was embroidered onto lace and draped over an antique table, becoming part of the styling rather than something tucked away in a corner. Finished with delicate lace edging and personalised with the couple’s guest list, it created a beautiful focal point as guests found their seats. One of my favourite things about embroidery is that it allows everyday wedding details to become keepsakes. Long after the day is over, this lace table plan becomes a reminder of everyone who shared it with you. And unlike many synthetic lace fabrics, our Nottingham cotton lace can be gently ironed when needed, no worrying about melting delicate fibres before the big day.
