Now we LOVE a table that looks considered, and as we head into cosy season, that’s exactly what we’re seeing. Think richer colours (not just rust), more texture, candlelight, layered details and tables that feel personal rather than perfectly matched. And honestly, we’re here for it. Here are just a few of the autumn/winter table trends for 2026 that we love, and should definitely be considered for your next event…
Rich Colours
Autumn doesn’t have to mean a table covered in burnt orange. This season, we’re loving deeper, more elegant shades such as burgundy, chocolate, olive, aubergine and an array of seasonal greens. Choose one or two deeper tones and let them dominate your table. For example, an ivory napkin with a burgundy monogram. A deep olive napkin with tonal embroidery or chocolate brown embroidery against natural linen. They are all colours that add depth and warmth to your table setting, and are complementary to the season without being the obvious choice.
Texture
Think fabrics you have to touch, textured glassware, and relaxed linens; your napkins are the perfect way to introduce this. Hemstitch linens, scalloped finish, frayed edges or a beautifully embroidered monogram. These are details guests notice when they sit down to dine. Adding embroidery adds an extra layer of texture; we love to personalise tables with guests’ names or logos for brand events too.
Personalisation
So, this one is now definitely more of a staple than a trend, but no table is complete without it in our eyes. When your guests sit down to dine, what better way to acknowledge their presence than with a personalised place setting? Personalisation isn’t going anywhere, but what we are seeing is a shift away from making everything obviously personalised.
Instead, it’s about choosing one or two details that feel considered, such as a guest’s name embroidered onto their napkin, a couple’s initials, a family crest, or an embroidered motif that means something to you, or represents your event. Remember, the most understated details can often have the biggest impact.
Candlelight
Candlelight is the perfect lighting for the autumn/winter season. It’s warm, cosy and adds an atmosphere to an event that is unmatched. Think taper candles, dinner candles, and clusters of candlelight; they can instantly change the atmosphere. You don’t need to fill every inch of the table (unless you want to, of course). A few candlelight details can turn your table into something really special, and it complements the season’s most popular colours perfectly.
Lace
Lace isn’t just for wedding dresses anymore, and we’ve seen a surge in its popularity thus far in 2026, so it makes sense that it will move through autumn and winter too. Think lace table runners, vintage-style doilies, and lace-edged napkins. It’s the perfect way to bring softness to the season and add romance to the dining experience. It brings a striking contrast when paired with rich, deep tones, and it’s an unexpected pairing that will make your tables pop in all the right ways.
Mismatched Details
One of our favourite autumn/winter table trends for 2026 is the mismatched table. Think different glasses, contrasting textures and clashing colours, plus a mixture of old and new too! Nothing should match, but everything should work together beautifully. This is perfect if you love a creative challenge, like us.
Embroidered napkins can be particularly useful here; using different finishes and colours could be the perfect way to honour this trend.
For us, the best tables aren’t necessarily the ones with big centrepieces or the most decorations. It’s the smaller details that make your dining experience extra special. And the details that make your guests want to sit down and take a closer look.
